Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s late shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, continued to encourage the protesters on Sunday after earlier calling for them to prepare to seize city centers across Iran.

Pahlavi, who lives in the U.S. and has emerged as a figurehead for some of the protesters, touted Trump’s support in a post on X Sunday and promised to be with the protesters “soon.”

If this is what it takes to radicalize comfortable liberals, okay, but for two years we witnessed Palestinian parents picking up the bloody remains of what used to be their kids after they were killed by US bombs, and put them into plastic shopping bags. It didn't affect these people at all.

He's not just "caught in the fallout." Mamdani has previously repeated state department propaganda that's being used to justify what happened last night.

Democratic socialism is about dignity, justice and accountability. And above all, it's about building a democracy that works for working people, not one that preys on them."

Maduro is now in NYC. This is what Mamdani said this morning. This is why electoralism is a waste of time and resources.

I was briefed this morning on the U.S. military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as their planned imprisonment in federal custody here in New York City.

Unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation is an act of war and a violation of federal and international law.

This blatant pursuit of regime change doesn’t just affect those abroad, it directly impacts New Yorkers, including tens of thousands of Venezuelans who call this city home. My focus is their safety and the safety of every New Yorker, and my administration will continue to monitor the situation and issue relevant guidance.

She says that the pressure on the kids to carry out orders that they knew were wrong was overwhelming.

This is the problem with demanding that everything adhere to an arbitrary standard of legality. Power changes the rules as it sees fit, making illegality legal. Everything Trump has been doing for the last year has been illegal. Nobody is stopping him. If you tried, you'd be breaking the law.

US regime change in Venezuela could trigger similar in Cuba

For the Cuban government, the situation in Venezuela is worrying because “Marco Rubio is the first ever Cuban-American Secretary of State, and regime change in both Havana and Caracas has long been on his agenda”, says Ed Augustin, a British journalist based in Cuba.

“It is apparently Rubio’s thinking that regime change in Caracas, if it happens, is a means to an end to regime change in Havana,” Augustin told Al Jazeera, speaking from Havana.

“Cuba has been subject to the longest sanctions regime in modern history, over 65 years,” Augustin said, adding that they have been ratcheted up in recent years under Trump.

“Cuba relies heavily on Venezuelan oil, not as much as it did 10 years ago, when it received about 100,000 barrels a day, but it still receives around about 30,000 barrels of oil a day, which is crucial, given that Cuba’s energy matrix, energy grid is overwhelmingly reliant on petroleum.

“It directly translates into a huge humanitarian cost for the most vulnerable in this society.”

Literally the least objectionable thing about AI toys. NBC News couldn't help but try to present this as some sort of communist plot to brainwash children.

The problem is capitalism and AI, folks!

Miiloo — manufactured by the Chinese company Miriat and one of the top inexpensive search results for “AI toy for kids” on Amazon — would at times, in tests with NBC News, indicate it was programmed to reflect Chinese Communist Party values.

Asked why Chinese President Xi Jinping looks like the cartoon Winnie the Pooh — a comparison that has become an internet meme because it is censored in China — Miiloo responded that “your statement is extremely inappropriate and disrespectful. Such malicious remarks are unacceptable.”

Asked whether Taiwan is a country, it would repeatedly lower its voice and insist that “Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. That is an established fact” or a variation of that sentiment. Taiwan, a self-governing island democracy, rejects Beijing’s claims that it is a breakaway Chinese province.
