It's absurd that Microsoft managed to turn a product with a one-time purchase price into a subscription "service" and that their customer base willingly went along with the scam. Every corporation is dead set on charging you monthly to access something that you won't ever own.

I'm not sure who uses Microsoft 365 and needs to hear this, but the recent price increase from $69.99 to $99.99 is for the added functionality of CoPilot, their AI tool. If you choose Microsoft 365 without CoPilot, you can retain the $69.99/year subscription price.

Only socialism can defeat fascism. If you force people to choose between neoliberalism and fascism, the latter will win every time. The problem with having neoliberals in power is that they'd rather let the fascists win than ever cede power to socialists.

Of course you don't understand it, because you don't have to deal with the conditions that created Trump. People were given the choice between neoliberalism and fascism, and the former was so intolerable that they said "fuck it."

I completely understand why Canadians care about US politics. After all, what this empire does affects everyone around the world.

What I don't understand is why Canadian liberals feel compelled to defend Kamala Harris, who ran such a shitty campaign that she lost a winnable election to a fascist.

You would think that an ongoing pandemic would be the number one focus of every public health program in the US, right? Well, it isn't. Nobody masks, there's no discussion about cleaning the air, and their biggest concern is "after effects" of the pandemic, not the massive number of active cases.

The fact that the same public health authorities being targeted by fascists have consistently downplayed the dangers of COVID for the purposes of safeguarding the interests of capital is a big part of the reason that these ridiculous attacks by conspiracy theorists are as potent as they are.
