10 years. A decade. It’s a long time to stay in any one company. Let alone in the creative industry, where agencies jostle for talent, and creatives jostle for recognition and opportunity. Yet this week marks 10 years for me here at Robot Food. It’s 10 years where I’ve seen a lot of change. Change in our clients, change in the size of our team, and change in the size and scale of our impact and opportunities. But also change in myself. I’ve grown professionally, from a Senior Designer, to a Design Director, to Creative Director, and now part of our Senior Leadership Team. But, hopefully, I’ve also grown personally too — becoming more open, less precious, (slightly) less egotistical — and much less concerned about proving myself, and much more about giving our team the platform to prove themselves instead. It’s change that’s kept me here. Kept me fresh (if no longer fresh-faced), kept me engaged, kept me excited. It’s proof, I think, that change isn’t something to be feared, but instead an opportunity. So thanks to Robot Food, for offering me a change 10 years ago. And here’s to making change together for many years to come.

I’ve been trying, unsuccessfully (apart from once), to get my boy out practicing his bike riding without stabilisers for the best part of 4 months. Daughter asked him today, not only did he agree to go out & try with her, but she got him cycling solo within literally minutes. Proud of both of them.
