Author, care worker, somewhen poet, somewhen archer. D&D. Gen X, ('e, 'im & oi). Writes about the Flying Dutchman, Smugglepunk, Brighton & Sussex folklore, and occasional non-fiction for magazines. Perpetually broke, no quick buck to be made here.
Labour centrists: "How dare naïve hysterical leftie scumbags suggest we're not nice people? We're luverly and know what's best for the woke classes."

Labour government: "Seize their jewellery! Extract their gold fillings! Cut out a kidney! Skin their Dalmatians! Just...don't tax the rich."

Yeah, so, not to brag, but Imma comic book character in a proper graphic novel (Hopeless, Maine). Just a one page appearance, but none-the-less, there bain't much else to aim for in life after this apex, is there?

I for one think the Epstein Ballroom will be magnificent. I love the decor theme of “what if Uday Hussein ran a Ramada Inn.” And giving it a theme song everyone will associate with it is a stroke of brilliance! “Thank Heaven for Little Girls” is very catchy.

I hate to pull the immigrant card, but as an immigrant, it feels awful when elected MPs say I ‘need to go home’ and propose stripping me and all other immigrants of all our legal rights to live here. No, anywhere immigrants move is their home. The UK is my home.

It's a good thing that Starmer's government is keeping the country safe, wot? Honouring his solemn promise to bring change, wot?
BREAKING: Heroic police officers save public from this terrifying terrorist who was holding a sign the government doesn’t like x

When @tomsbrown.bsky.social asked me what Professor Penning in Rousing the Duvelsbeest should look like, I sent him a bunch of pictures of Dr. Jane Goodall. Her character is different, but similar look and Tom captured her well, methinks. Sharing now as tribute.

TEN YEARS for settled status. Labour really do seem to have gone collectively insane. Just don’t play Farage’s game. Refuse. Try thinking about what you’re actually saying. And stop.
Krishnan Guru Murthy, "Isn't it a bit insulting to say to an Indian doctor who is working 60-70 hours a week that in order to get settled status he's got to volunteer?"

Rachel Reeves, "We want people to contribute if they come to our country"

Labour have gone utterly bonkers

I was hoping the settled status would offer me a bit of surety, but reckoned that sooner or later the Brits would start fiddling with it. Because xenophobia has been soooooo successful for the UK of late, innit?
Reform will apparently pledge today that they'd abolish indefinite leave to remain - including retrospectively, to people already granted it. Obviously this is a moral abomination but it is also a practical and legal impossibility.

Preliminary sketch by Eldad Druks for the short story 'Forsaken'. Based on the brilliant Elaine Evans exhibition at Brighton Museum, this story (woven around a poem by Jo B.) appeared in the 'Elements of Horror: Water' Anthology. 2b republished in "Brighton Folk: A Blast from the Past" next year.

No other party says the basic truth: migration is good for Britain.

The real problem? Inequality, soaring bills, underfunded public services.

That’s driven by the greed of the super rich and the Labour government who serve them - not by migrants.

Now who could gaze at this awesome picture of yours truly at the Fishermen's Museum in Hastings and not be convinced that I'm clearly very knowledgeable
regarding the nautical matters I write about?

Centrists and Starmeroids devoted heaps of attention on the left-wing, kindly taking the time to deride them, scorn them, mock them, bully them out of the party, or just kick them out all together. And after all this effort, this is ALL the thanks they get? Who coulda seen that coming?

Visited Old St Helen's in Hastings last weekend in the esteemed company of C.J. Stone, former Guardian columnist (Housing Benefit Hill) and proper author.
