Curlew Conservation Update - Release pen construction
Whilst the Curlew chicks are being cared for in Fota Wildlife Park,our teams are on the ground preparing for their phased release back into the wild.
Release pens have been constructed on twocarrfully selected island sites.

🌿 Extensive Grassland Biodiversity Event

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending the Extensive Grassland Biodiversity Event, co-hosted by Teagasc and The Heritage Council.

The morning kicked off with insightful talks from John Feehan, John Muldowney, and Helen Sheridan.

We had a fantastic time at the UCD Festival on Saturday. We were in great company with BioBeo EU and BioOrbic Research Ireland.
Wonderful to meet so many people and introduce them to our native Curlew and the other Wader birds supported by the Breeding Waders EIP.

Three Oystercatcher chicks have hatched at Location 2!

Let's hope that these chicks survive until fledgling and are part of the next generation of breeding Oystercatcher on the lake.
