I received an invite from Farage to join the people’s army (Reform party mail out).
It’s a no from me and I can’t wait to chat with whoever rocks up to my door seeking my vote.

The passing of the Employment Rights Bill, which now becomes the Employment Rights Act 2025, was a major victory for trade unions and for workers in all sectors, right across the UK.

Scotlands teachers are facing precarity, casualisation and unemployment on the one hand while other teachers are overworked to the tune of a day and half a week extra on the other hand.

Its time to vote YES YES and act on workload, precarity, casualisation and underemployement of teachers.

I began my in-person, 1:1 chats with members regarding the ballot yesterday. Of the 20 members, 3 hadn’t received ballots, 5 had returned theirs, & 11 hadn’t. The last colleague requested one on Tuesday, received one on Thursday but is unclear if this is the correct ballot. More to be done.

Today is a good day to check in with members - have they returned their ballot? …and if they haven’t received their second ballot, direct them to @eisunion.bsky.social ‘s email to request one. #itsabouttime #EIS #SU4QE

The more I hear of the government’s plans for increasing non-contact time for teachers, the more I suspect they spent very little time on their planning and preparation for it. It is not solely about additional time; it is about employing additional teachers.

What is this, pray tell? Offering a “deal” through the media again? Unions negotiate for their members. I don’t think this is anything that should need to be explained to the government. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Promises have been made to learners and parents/carers too. With ASNs increasing the job cannot be done with the time we have available. When the new ballot paper arrives, return it with a yes/yes vote as a first step to achieving manageable workload and appropriate ASN support #SU4QE @eisunion

Time to keep a manifesto commitment.
Time to hire new teachers to permanent posts.
Time for planning, preparation and correction. #EIS #Ballot

Take note
I quit Twitter before it was cool. I walked away from 3.2M followers, and absolutely nothing changed in my life, other than fewer garbage people disrupting my peace.

There was little value then, and there is even less, now. Staying on Twitter is a moral and ethical failing, disguised as business.
