Because original Texas-style chili was chili spices with meat (no beans). chili as a spice was used in other dishes, so “chili con carne“ was originally used to clarify the particular chili-using dish that was being prepared.

In other words ORIGINAL PUBLIC MEANING

I agree that vegetarian chili — i.e., only beans and other veggies — is a thing and can be extremely tasty. but the proper name for that is “vegetarian chili.”

She’s a puerile half-wit suffering from the too-common NYC-elite delusion that her squalid urges and misbehavior are somehow indicative of contrarian insight or genius. She, like so many public figures in our era, is an unserious clown and should be treated like one.
