A speech-language pathologist (SLP) AKA speech therapist, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. They work to improve speech, language, voice, and fluency, and swallowing skills. They can work in hospitals, clinics, and private practices.

Tips for Teachers:
* Speak clearly and slowly, with pauses to model relaxed communication. 
* Avoid interrupting or finishing their sentences. 
* Teach classmates to be understanding and patient. 
* Explain stuttering is not to be ashamed of and okay!

17 states filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government claiming Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act is unconstitutional. Section 504 is all about providing support for those with disabilities and this lawsuit could strip away those essential protections.
