It’s just virtual signaling, unless they quit X; politicians, news outlets, all of them.

I know that’s a technical possibility, but I believe it’s very unlikely.

Russia took Crimea, and NATO did nothing. Russia is at its front door — trying to take Ukraine — it’s debating aid packages. The idea that a US-less NATO will cross the ocean to fight the US (itself a nuclear power) over Greenland while leaving itself further exposed to Russia seems unlikely.

That’s the problem. NATO would be fighting a war on two fronts: against the U.S. and Russia.
