And Trump 2.0 is fundamentally a grievance machine comprised of incompetents. There is very little overarching strategy. Each faction is mostly “using” Trump and taking advantage of his diminished mental state, especially true for Miller/Noem IMO.

I also hope those if you who monitor journalistic bad faith show no mercy towards the NY Post this year. You know it’s coming…. . every subway incident being the final spark that unleashes anarchy and mass exits to suburbs and other states… because “the socialist”.

I was amazed by his acting performance. Saw the movie yesterday.

I regularly remind people, “They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the dogs.” was stated in a Presidential debate and not some random comment caught on camera or a Truth Social screed. USA ***chose*** all of this dysfunction. So spare me the “I’m surprised” BS at Trump 2.0 behavior.

Exactly. Who knows what he says on those phone calls with Putin ? Casually assuming some info he previously received in briefings is “public” ?

Or the uproar from 100+ mostly deranged social media posts from Biden on Christmas Day ? Or a deranged social media post on Memorial Day ? Here’s Trump’s *** very Presidential **** Memorial Day post 😉. …. seems like 5 years ago. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dems in Congress are fighting. If GOP won’t budge, then only Nov 2026 elections or a groundswell of even larger “No Kings” protests prior to Nov 2026 (to get the GOP Congress to budge) will work. What am I missing?

One thing that doesn’t get enough attention is how the myth of “liberal-dominated media” affects the behavior of mainstream news outlets. The right’s constant complaining – working the refs – has made news execs think they must platform patently false Republican narratives. 8/10 🧵

I think most moderate/left philanthropists know that vitriolic confrontation with Trump isn’t productive. They’re probably doing a lot more than we realize to mitigate the USAID fiasco. This was Melinda French Gates mild criticism of USAID cuts in February (on X):

Melinda French Gates on X: "Today I am thinking of the people I’ve met around the world—children, parents, health workers, teachers—who will be harmed by the Trump administration’s decision to try to dismantle USAID and walk back U.S. leadership in global health and poverty reduction. I’m thinking, too," / X

Regardless, the impeachment trial would still have been after Biden’s inauguration and all of the same GOP excuses and fears likely would’ve happened anyway, especially for Senate GOP. What am I missing?

Vladimir’s wind-up toy performing well in Florida today I see ? Exhausting. Petty grievance diplomacy.

I think the Monday or Tuesday NFL coach pressers, regurgitating the last game with the local press, are even more useless more often than not. Insert the non-answer GOAT (Belichick) here.

Different sport, but my all time favorite from 2016 NCAA Basketball Tournament. Reporter to losing player: “How does Baylor get out-rebounded by Yale ?”

I would slightly reframe this. I don’t think he wanted to invade per se. I think he wanted to control Ukraine, and a Ukraine moving West (and therefore aspiring to join the EU and NATO) would make that impossible. Of course, Putin as much as anyone propelled Ukraine on its westward trajectory.
