I went to Allen Gardens to do some sketching, to see if it would be a good place to take my illustration students but I felt it was too tight and had too little seating, even after the recent renovations. Not bad for a small group or solo trip for an hour or so though.

On a telephone pole some and black sloppy simple faces and s stick figure and white and yellow eggs next to a red brick wall with red, priple and orange raw, simple faces. An Xs for eyes cartoon character with a missing arm bleeding out beside the words good boy and a smile, a distorted simple smiling cube and a quickly sprayed image of a... I am not sure. Letters in black jammed together so it could be Baba or B f b a.the top part of the a has two eyes and fangs good boy in red with a smile and eyes next to two large glaring cartoony eyes. Really raw and simple.

Gag 237: Coat of Harms
A fat, stinky, knight with upturned nose looks sadly at their coat of arms, the artist hiding behind it. The knight laments "I was hoping for something less honest". The coat of arms has a twig and berries, a foot in mouth, a jellyfish and a pansy. The crest has a helmet and ribbon on top and is flanked by a big and a skunk with its rear in the air.

The Doc Strange Doc Doom book was great too. My first introduction to him was the cover of Aliens Salvation which I think is still a killer composition.

Likewise, the impractical clothes that pirates wear are thanks to father of American illustration, Howard Pyle, who took inspiration from the Romani people. There wasn't a lot of pictorial reference for him to work from.

On boards attached to wooden boards outside a construction project, Three wobbly garbage cans (two short, one tall) in grey and yellow each with brown and black raccoons at the base. The first can has two lounging raccoons with brown beer bottles enjoying a yellow guitar playing raccoon. The second has two raccoons cheersing you, one with a brown bottle of beer, the other a yellow ice cream. The last one has a raccoon make a weird face and the other is angry pointing at the viewer.
