I can’t believe #SantaFe County road crews decided to sleep in this morning and not clear or at least lay cinders down on a SINGLE effing road. Sure, it was only 1.5” of snow last night but it’s 12°F out and the roads are extremely slippery.

Oh and #santafe drivers: you don’t speed and effing […]

8 inches of snow!, they said.

No, wait, 7 inches of snow!, they said.

Uh, 5 inches!, they said.

Ok, 6 inches!, they said.

Maybe 5? they said.

We got 1.5 inches of snow. I’m convinced the Nat’l <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/NewMexico" class="hover:underline text-blue-600 dark:text-sky-400 no-card-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-link="bsky">#Weather Svc of [#NewMexico’s been replaced by a Grok or something ever since the orange-faced guy.]

So for the tiny number of US people who have seen Jim Jarmusch’s 2009 film THE LIMITS OF CONTROL, clearly most hated it.

Me, I LOVED it and have rewatched it numerous times since seeing it in a cinema in 2009.

Anyone out there like this film too? Just curious!

Saw an amazing thing the other day while charging my EV. This other guy was charging too, but he had these incredibly obedient puppies sitting there not budging at all for MANY MINUTES. Then he called ‘em over, opened a door and they hopped in.

Never seen puppies like that. Hope he’s not a tyrant.

Hard to type right now… fingers frostbitten and sting like crazy as I tried to shovel more snow off the driveway.

Then I saw this on this on the horizon here in #santafe, #newmexico had to take some pics.

Going to 8°F here tonight. 🥶❄️

This is a great shooting-the-breeze/reminiscing conversation between actor Michael Biehn and director James Cameron. So many little film nuggets, for example, the origins of the line “I’ll be back” in Terminator.

Recommended.

Holiday greetings, PLATO 1970s-style

(And for those who have not bought and devoured with delight and then reviewed with five stars my book, ECS is Extended Core Storage, or, basically, computer memory, which was always in short supply on PLATO)

Over 2hrs still to go, watching Apple’s much-hyped F1 movie and I’m like, nope.

I’m not gonna watch a movie so full of product/brand placements, it’s nonstop ads—from co’s largely responsible for global warming (hi, Aramco!). Screw this celebration of fossil fuel.

Tried, really tried, over two nights to watch Netflix’s WAKE UP DEAD MAN but could not find a reason to finish it.

Just struck me as a tired, ho-hum script riffing on Agatha Christie mysteries, played out with a boring cast, under nothing-special direction […]

Hiking White Sands Nat’l Park yesterday in #NewMexico. A magical, otherworldly place.

Those dunes? That isn’t sand. It’s gypsum. The whole desert is gypsum. It’s like being on another planet.

OMG, please tell me this is Facebook AI slop. Surely no venue could describe a humble cover-song folk guitar & bass duo this way. First, it ignores Robert Marcum, the singer/guitarist, and seems centered on lowly me. I guarantee I won't bleed the songs. I […]

*Really* nice to see here in #santafe, #NewMexico. And you don’t have to immediately roll up all the windows due to the bus’s belching toxic diesel smoke.

(Except when there’s a big hulking diesel pickup truck in front of the bus and it is belching thick […]

It absolutely blows my MIND that a four-trillion-dollar company can’t fix the stupidest bug in their own #music app in #iOS for #iPhone—namely, the one that shows the wrong album covers for albums downloaded from Apple’s Music app on a Mac.

#apple REALLY REALLY hates people owning their own […]

Pretty astoundingly bad box office performance for a film so urgently relevant in these dire times.

Roughly 0.000102941 of the American population have seen the film. More spiders have seen it than people.

This little fella was hanging out in the spring-like sunshine just now and I couldn’t resist a pic—he doesn’t mind, just lets me snap away til I get the keeper shot which was this one.

This guy had just gobbled up a whole rabbit—head, tail, the whole damn thing—right in the middle of the road opposite my driveway this morning. He then looked up as if to say, “What? I’m having a nice relaxing breakfast here.”

Holy crap is this film SIRAT intense. In some remote ways it’s like UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD meets Friedkin’s SORCEROR, set in the vast desert of Morocco. Audible audience gasps in this one. Not for the faint-hearted. Not Hollywood. Not a “fun” thriller. An […]

This is some really shitty trickery, Sky Cinemas #santafe. If I’d known this was an effing #netflix movie I wouldn’t have paid you $ to see it! But your movie poster MAKES NO MENTION of Netflix or anything else one expects to see in a movie poster.

Compare with an alternative poster.
