Fun fact: individuals can file a complaint with the International Criminal Court to demand that an investigation commence into whether crimes against humanity have been committed on a member state territory (here, El Salvador, by the US).

Anyone (hint hint) can file right here:

Respectfully, what Stephen Miller wrote here is not a misunderstanding. It is an intentional misstatement of the law designed as propaganda to justify civil and human rights violations, AND HE KNOWS IT.
This is a shockingly mistaken understanding of due process by Stephen Miller. It is likely this misunderstanding that is informing the President’s misunderstanding.

Senator Van Hollen has been doing a lot to help Kilmar Abrego Garcia, what are you doing to help Andry Hernandez Romero the gay gentleman, seeking asylum, who was taken from San Diego and thrown into the concentration camps in El Salvador?!!
Editorial: We must all advocate for Andry’s release

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

I am doing some research this morning. Even though the US is not a member of the ICC, there are exceptions to the rule that non-member states’ citizens are not subject to ICC jurisdiction.

Don't look away from this.
A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred.

Yes, there is a lot of litigation to follow. But to my trans and NB family and friends, I’m so sorry and I love you. We will fight this together.

Trans and non-binary people are valid. Their identities are real, their experiences matter, and their existence is not up for debate. Everyone deserves respect, dignity, and the freedom to be who they are without fear or discrimination.

I spoke about the 3.5% number to a group of organizers recently. It’s really important to remember that it doesn’t take many of us to create change.
Over 50% of nonviolent movements to overthrow governments are successful within one year of their peak.

The key is to engage over 3.5% of the country, a cross-section of society—clergy, kids, grandmas, teachers) using DIVERSE & CREATIVE tactics, with women in leadership.

We can do this.
