Uh-huh. I don't want to seem like I've got a tinfoil hat or anything, but "At least four separate seismic stations detected ground motion that told the system there was an earthquake.”

False Earthquake Alert Likely Triggered by ‘Something Out in the Field,’ USGS Says | KQED
The USGS, which said at least four seismic stations detected ground motion that signaled a quake, quickly canceled the warning that startled the Bay Area.

Ok, this has gotten weird. I saw the event on USGS, then when it disappeared, I looked here and saw THIS post from a month ago. Now local news is saying USGS is "looking into the error". Was this some kind of a test?

Ok, this has gotten weirder. (I saw it on USGS, too, right after the alert, showing a 5.9 quake), then saw THIS post from a month ago. Now local news is saying the alert was an error, and USGS is "looking into it."

I got the alert, saw the info on USGS, and when I didn't see it when I looked again later, looked here and got this post from a month ago. This is getting spooky.

Ok, this has gotten weirder. Got the alert, saw it on USGS, then when I went back and it was missing, looked it up here and saw THIS post from a month ago. This is concerning.

Ok, this has gotten weirder. USGS has deleted the event from its site (saw it personally right after the alert, showing a 5.9 quake), then saw THIS post from a month ago. Now local news is saying the alert was an error, and USGS is "looking into it."

Omg, this has gotten weirder. The quake NEVER happened and USGS has deleted it from the website, though I saw a big circle indicating a sizeable quake on the map earlier. Even our local Fox station is covering it:

Was that a test?
USGS deletes 5.9 quake in Nevada from its website
The US Geological Survey sent out an erroneous alert on Thursday, stating originally that an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 struck in Nevada, but then pulled that alert back, saying it was a mista...

4/4...THEN, in order to get the exact details of this alert, I went back on the USGS website, and could NOT find the location or magnitude listed, when I had just seen it! No circle on the map either.
Then I Googled the alert, and got THIS article:

WTF is happening?!

3/4... So then I wondered what happened & came here & saw that a bunch of Californians had gotten the alert & were also freaked out until they noticed it was in the next state. But I did not see any reports from Nevada! But I DID see this guy's post from a MONTH ago:

...
There is a non-zero chance we only learn the US has completed its first underground nuclear weapons test in decades after an automated USGS earthquake social media account suddenly starts posting about an extremely shallow seismic event in Nevada

2/4... I started to brace myself, and then realized the earthquake alert said it was going to be happening ~164 miles away. Looked it up on USGS a few minutes later and it was just across the border in Nevada & showed on the USGS map as a pretty sizeable red circle showing a big earthquake...
December 4, 2025 at 5:24 PM
Holy crap, you might be right. Just got an alert a few minutes ago about an earthquake in Nevada. I'm in CA, but we've had a few lately, and I braced myself before realizing it was in the next state over.
December 4, 2025 at 4:25 PM
Me, too! Braced myself for nothing. But a few days ago, had five earthquakes with an epicenter practically under my bed in CA Wine Country, and although they were a bit smaller, no alert. It did spice up the weekend, though, especially when you've got a few glasses of wine in, lol.

And now we've got Democratic leaders talking about caving to Republicans so many of us can all lose our healthcare over skyrocketing premiums. It's infuriating.

Elected Republicans will do everything they can to help him do it, too, because they see their own dim political futures. I wish I could feel as positive about the end being near. He is literally tearing down the WH and no one is stopping him.

When have the Republicans cared about bringing down costs for anyone but their morbidly rich donors? The only reason anyone who's not a billionaire votes for them, is because they've been brainwashed by identity politics and Fox News. This is gaslighting.
