I stopped in at Balong this morning to get a breakfast sandwich along with this pandan donut from Salvie Donuts. I washed it down with a vanilla iced coffee with sweet/salty cold foam from Cup Coffee. So much yum. #donuts

Well, I gotta admit, this is a nice ego boost. It's likely aligned with whatever algorithm Google is running for me, but it's still good to see it after what has been a confidence-challenging month. Last year we showed up on the fourth page. Feels like progress. Thanks to all for reading!

Still thinking about this pistachio olive oil cake from yesterday, made by Orange & Blossom. It was totally vegan, too. Although I'm not a vegan, I'm really happy to see how far #vegan food has come since the days of primarily Loma-Linda-hot-dogs-in-a-can.

My favorite shot tonight - overhead view of a NA pandan colada at After Ours during a media event. This drink was comped but no amount of money big or small will have any effect on my love of the green color that is pandan. Wonderful flavor, too. #bridgetownbites

This was a sausage, scallion, and cheese scone at the new Woodblock Bakery. Huge and very tasty. Had a pillowy soft texture. I’d eat it again.

Stopped at Hong Phat for their $5 sandwich and a drink deal and chose the Vietnamese iced coffee. Strong and sweet! Love it. 🫶🏻 Plus, it’s hard to find a better deal, ngl.

I hiked in Mt Tabor this morning and stopped in at @coquinepdx.bsky.social afterward. Had a fantastic iced latte, picked up some cheese and dijon mustard, and tried their donut: lemon verbena with an apricot glaze. The crust was prominent with a soft interior. Very tasty. #donuts #portland

So much potential… East Portland deserves good things. I dream of something like the Green Loop out here that includes neighborhoods by 205. BTW I am loving whatever happened here with all those trees!

There are some folks in this town that talk about going to 82nd Avenue as a "day trip," like it's far, far away. One said 82nd Ave is "the outskirts of town." Out of frustration, I made this East Portland bingo card a while back.
