The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz

What a weird book 🤣

First half was really engaging suspense with the backdrop of a friendship that ended quickly

Second half became horror, action, adventure

Idk it’s not for me but if you like horror and weird surprises than you might love this book!

There's a lot I could say about my grandmother. The important part is, she always seemed to genuinely like me. Even though I wasn't an affectionate kid, and I was cross-eyed, and I loved books more than people.

She didn't mind. I think she liked books better than most people, too.

The last thing my grandmother wanted was to go home. Transportation from the hospital had been arranged, but she died first. In the hospital, where she didn't want to be.

Her ashes were picked up today, and tomorrow, she finally gets to go home. Not the way she wanted. But home, nonetheless.

Writing Tip:
No matter how much you edit something, eventually you have to stop and send it off. That's the scary part. It's like sending your kid off to college. You don't know if it's going to turn out well, but you've prepared them the best you can. Be confident.
