One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

Had @russfischer.bsky.social point out I dodged a bullet that Sean Penn’s character in the book is named Brock but he’s Lockjaw in the movie, and I was like yeah woof thank god no more Brock shade, but then someone called me “Col. Brockjaw” and we cannot reseal the dam; Halloween costume inbound.

dunno how else to frame the achievement but @chucktingle.bsky.social’s ability to stick the landing on these has made made think *less* of my other recent fav novels; changed the weighted average of horror ranking and that’s a compliment where third parties catch a stray but here we are.
