Does anyone have a contact for Ann ? Would love to discuss with her the possibility of partnering with her to publish her cartoons exclusively on @bluesky
Jeff Bezos never wanted this cartoon to become public.

He killed it, and as a result, pulitzer prize editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit.

Make sure everyone sees this cartoon.

I’ve seen a lot of discussion relating to LLMs/AI in this feed. These two excerpts are from Jacob Bronowski’s “The Origins of Knowledge and Imagination”.

“Throw the whole thing away and start building up a new axiomatic system”. A simple task for humans, but an expensive task for machine #philsci

Just realized I’ve been using “exert” instead of “excerpt”… FML 😭😂

I will be exerting effort to ensure this mistake does not continue into future posts ;)

As we explore in our recent research, the effects of technological disruptions go much beyond jobs and the economy. A good example in this graph.

Another exert from Jacob Bronowski’s “The Origins of Knowledge and Imagination”.
I chose this exert because I think it does an excellent job of introducing the concept of metalogic. “Standing outside the system”.

As a disabled web accessibility practitioner. This pisses me off. Extremely.

GENERATIVE AI DOES NOT AND CANNOT EVER REPRESENT DISABLED PEOPLE.

Just fucking hire disabled people like me who know what they're doing.

Believing AI over disabled people is ABLEISM and DEHUMANIZING. For fucks sake.

Getting close to the end of Jacob Bronowski’s “The Origins of Knowledge and Imagination”. Loving this book and will be reading “Principia Mathematica” next as a result of Bronowski’s incredible 4th chapter “The Laws of Nature and the Nature of Laws”.

A brilliant exert from Jacob Bronowski’s “The Origins of Knowledge and Imagination”. Bronowski is defining the 3 characters of the language of science.

In a world full of LLMs Bronowski’s definition of the language of science seems to be more relevant than ever.
