Page 1: Percy complains he’s hungry. His bat companion Matilda says that’s why they hunt. Percy scoffs at hunting “like some kind of peasant?” Page 2: Percy wonders who to pick since the place is full of drunkards and crooks. Jack the bartender cuts his hand on broken glass and says “Ouch.” Page 3: Jack notices the broken glass. Percy tastes Jack’s blood and thinks it’s exquisite, deciding it has to be him. Page 4: Matilda scolds Percy for choosing the bartender, saying everyone would notice him missing. Percy insists he’s made his decision. Jack tells them there’s a strict no-bats policy and asks Percy and the “pet” to leave.
