It's Bandcamp Friday! Things are hard right now but if you're perusing, my records are real fun :)

The cover for "Where Lilies Grew" by Waxlimbs. White-on-black linework depicts an androgynous figure halfway into mutating into some kind of bird The cover for "All Fours" by Void Femmes. Pink and oddly textured blackletter text spans a black background and writes out the title of the record.

i posted this before getting to celeste norfair which is maybe the strongest case of this in silksong that i've seen thus far. a whole area built around pressure/time crunch mechanics but ended up being some of the most fun 2d platforming i've played in a while.
brokenmachinery.bsky.social
silksong has this weird thing about it where one of the main emotions i get from it is a feeling of "oh wait, that wasn't so bad after all."

just a constant stream of mechanics/level design that initially look deeply unpleasant but end up being used in pretty cool ways.
brokenmachinery.bsky.social
i largely agree there; the rosaries rolling around like that gets particularly annoying imo because individually they matter more earlier on which means the slowdown they cause to exploration gets frontloaded (and thus initial passes through early areas have weirdly divided attention)

Hey so it's bandcamp friday

because I know we all need this right now, here's a kind of ambitious album my band did about the end of the world; if it makes you feel any better, our violinist Alan kinda went ham on the opening track
