generally griping about domestication, playacting ferality for practice, and practice is really kinda magical, big into practice,
this makes me scoff and dismiss. but maybe the same sort of scoffing is appropriate for people who point to the utilitarian 'success' of math and say: this is actually how the universe works

also watched the 28 years later bone temple movie last night, which i also expected not to like, but it also really hyped me up and blew me away. also intense depictions of torture, that i normally shy away from but instead took as mememto mori stuff. big recommend

this is an incredible idea. I have a vision of a very poignant movie

lol, if tried to cook up a story when i come across well, I could hardly top this: approachable, helpful, lucky, giving, pleasant, not afraid of the dark, goes to the gym, lol. i suppose i can occasionally be each of those things, just rarely simultaneously like this

i said sure and then immediately found two $20 bills in the crosswalk and gave one to her. we had a pleasant walk chatting with each other. very nice little unexpected thing

and this, haven't watched it yet, but the director is imo kinda like wes anderson if wes anderson had some real thoughts and conviction

badass imo first two paragraphs, this guy had a few other flourishes like this, but it was otherwise a kinda normal local author historical fiction thing

I can! though I just thought after i posted this that it's the UK doing it, so maybe not the purview of the LSA? dunno. Do you know if that's a relevant consideration?

i feel this so much. For me though, certain prog stuff really hits the sweet spot for me. this band has been a fave since high school: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coheed_...

sure, the ironic juice comes from the supposed loss of control, there's never evidence for that loss of control beyond the bad thing that happened to powerless people, but even that bad thing seems to generally be in a cui bono way helpful to the original controllers

I think the null hypothesis or whatever is that things under our control are under our control.

Theres also a seeming sleight of hand about who 'we' is. it's more like: powerful entity controls X, but then X does something bad to not powerful people who are associated with it. pretty different imo
