Just 53% of disabled people in the UK are employed, compared to 81.6% of non-disabled people, due partly to limited early educational opportunities.

Scotland’s insufficient water storage infrastructure is largely down to plentiful supply, with rainfall pouring into lochs, rivers and reservoirs. But with demand growing steadily, upgrades will soon be required: www.insp.ngo/articles/new...

Staff with lived experience offer a better service to people experiencing homelessness, Robyn Woof argues. However, this kind of work can affect anyone’s mental health, and all workers, regardless of background, need to have their rights protected: www.insp.ngo/articles/liv...

We have more pitches than vendors, meaning that we are here for anyone who needs us – and the more people there are to buy the magazine, the more funds we can reinvest in all vendors.

In 2002, just 2% of our vendors were over 50. Now, over 20% are – and a growing number are in their sixties or seventies.

Growing up I would hear Baddeley's voice on shows such as TUGS as Top Hat & Dennis the Menace as Dennis's Dad, his voice was just perfect for uptight & snobby characters with just the right of heart to make them enduring.

RIP to a legend in British animation & voice acting.

Its heartbreaking that he has passed away I really enjoyed his voicework in TUGS,Dennis The Menace,Alfred J Kwak,Star Fleet,Oscar's Orchestra,Enchanted Lands: The Magic of the Faraway Tree etc. He was a good actor and will never be forgotten RIP John Baddeley.

My wonderful grandpa, John Baddeley, died peacefully at home on Saturday at the age of 92. He was an amazing grandpa, dad and husband, a prolific actor, and one of the funniest and wittiest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. We’ll all miss him so very much.

I used to know a guy who ended up becoming very very rightwing, and an early tell was when he went to the Rothko Room in the Tate and the paintings made him insanely angry, because he felt they were a joke and the joke was being played on him.

The UK’s population is forecast to rise from 69.6 million to 72.5 million by 2032, fuelling the housing crisis. But the government’s ambitious plan to build 300,000 new homes annually over the next five years carries a huge environmental impact and exacts a heavy toll: www.insp.ngo/articles/new...

The cost to the public purse of homelessness is £30,000 per person per year. Our vendors are entitled to in-work benefits - but working their way into housing benefits everyone in the UK.

For many with care responsibilities, selling The Big Issue can offer dignified, flexible income.

It costs £32 to provide someone everything they need to become a vendor and start working instantly. Please give today: https://bigissuenorthcampaigns.good.do/therighttoearn/donate-to-help-vendors/
