If I were to be in "The princess and the pea", running this household would be perfect training. Freshly chewed dog bone under the blankets? Been there, done that. Accidentally slept on Barbie _and_ her horse? Didn't even notice.

Protecting you if things go wrong.

The new Product Liability Directive enters into force.

From today, as a 🇪🇺 consumer, you have more rights if something goes seriously wrong because of a product you bought.

A win-win for European consumers and for business ↓

I've been thinking the gender gap in self esteem makes evolutionary sense: women with low self esteem and men with high self esteem may be more likely to mate and transfer genes to the next generation. I've since felt better about my self esteem issues and more confident about raising daughters.

The kids have unreasonably large advent calendars, filled with candy and chocolate bars. I open the little picture calendar in the kitchen and feel a little bit cheated every day.

Massive sleep deprivation. I'm trying to be like a dolphin and see if I can train half my brain to sleep while the other keeps mindlessly scrolling

Oh, to possess the same false confidence as a child when asked if they've definitely done all their homework. They say "yes I'm sure" with the bright eyes and convincing stance of an explorer leading his crew to uncharted waters.

What is the best song (played at high enough volume) to gently inform your neighbors that their loud shouting match is not a very constructive way to deal with conflict? My current choice is 'Imagine' by John Lennon but I think everyone would appreciate some variety.

Do not hate the winter dark. For the cloak of darkness, all-embracing and impenetrable, so artfully conceals your poor fashion choices.

After seven years of experimentation, a team of researchers
produced, through selective breeding, adult corals capable of resisting marine heat waves—a useful trait in an ever-warming world. Their work showed that corals can become better adapted to warming within a single generation.
As Ocean Waters Warm, a Race to Breed Heat-Resistant Coral
Around the world, researchers are working on a range of projects that aim to enhance corals’ resistance to marine heat waves. In a promising sign, a U.K. team recently became the first to quantify an ...

I would like to dedicate my first post to what would have been a decadent, fluffy buttercream frosting had I kept my eye on it more vigilantly. Instead, its destiny was to become the latest victim of my culinary escapades. Rest in peace, Sugarlump.
