I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

Tanstack Start doing doing server calls a bit different than React Server Components.

You can write the client and server logic in the same file and it replaces it with fetch calls when run on the client.

No "use client", no errors with client APIs in server components, etc..

watch at 0.5× 😆

Putting CSS Anchor Positioning to the test by throwing dropdown menus around 💪

[popover].dropdown {
top: anchor(bottom);
right: anchor(right);
position-try-fallbacks: flip-block,flip-inline;
}

That's it 👆 Keeps the menu tethered to the button
(may as well bring over some hits from the other place)

bluesky request.

do not follow or reward quote-doomers. people who quote an article and only add something like "you have no idea how bad this is" or "it's over" or "say goodbye to everything you love".

they succeed from your stress. they're bringing you down with them. stay awake; not like this.

We’re going to hear lots of stories about which people, policies and rhetoric are to blame for the Democrats’ defeat.

Some of those stories may even be true!

But an underrated factor is that 2024 was an absolutely horrendous year for incumbents around the world 👇

People don’t understand how important this is to scaling decentralization.

Even the data isn’t that big of a deal. But the traffic? Game changer

For reference: on mastodon, hachyderm goes through 1TB+ of egress data a day. The network charges for that alone would bankrupt most people
running a PDS (your data store) is cheap. $5 VPS cheap, can have loads of users on the same host, and is immune to how busy the network is. if we gain 100mil users, you'll still be able to use a $5 VPS because it's only your data and only your traffic
