the only reality TV i’ve successfully been able to watch & enjoy is OG iron chef and every other entry i get maybe one or two episodes deep before i’ve got the whole-body feeling of having spent 16 hours ripping in board shorts & flipflops, ripping out fiberglass insulation

maybe the distinction is the situational manufacturing or cinematographic exaggeration of interpersonal conflicts, “dramas” (AUS-NZ sense), demanding the externalization of participant internality, cooperation and kindness packaged w/ a naive character framing. all that IMO is “real bad, the worst”

Yes heat pumps do work in old buildings. @trinityoxford.bsky.social founded in 1555 got a ground source heat pump fitted by Rendesco in 2024 when the photo with the drilling rig was taken.

Compare it to what it looks like today - the tourists taking photos have no idea what’s under the lawn.
