What's something awe-inspiring or deeply emotional you've seen at a #PublicLand or #NationalPark? Most recently for me, it's the annual Memorial Illumination at Antietam National Battlefield, where 23000 lights illustrate the toll of 9/17/1862 against the night sky.

Got my Bonfire order today for my t-shirt, which is awesome! I hope you agree & would like to order too! A portion of the proceeds goes to @expeditionsined.bsky.social for their work w/ educators such as #STEAMinthePark.

National Parks & Public Lands are so important for myriad reasons. #ParkChat

I've got this burning, yearning feeling deep inside me, and it hurts so bad.... I need to go wandering. This view of railroad tracks was discovered when following brown signs for "Covered Bridges" in the Catoctin Park and Cunningham Falls State Park area. #IBrakeForBrownSigns #BrownSignLife

This week's #BlueSkyArtShow theme is #Jagged. Here's a shot from Acadia National Park near Thunder Hole during a trip I made in 2017 with some friends.

Sometimes, the signs are blue. There seems to be some crossover with the information provided by brown and blue signs. #BrownSignLife #BrownSigns #NationalParks #StateParks #ParkChat #RoadTrip

Not all brown signs are roadside! Here's one that we found along the trail up to Eagle Rock at Blue Mounds State Park outside of Luverne, Minnesota. We had binoculars and a stuffed bison, so followed the sign instructions.... Oh, wait, there were actual bison to be viewed! #BrownSignLife #ParkChat

Who needs navigation and GPS? 😆

We saw our first burrowing owl on those dusty, dirt roads! It was skittish and this was the best photo we got of it.

We spoke with the campground host at Elk Mountain (Wind Cave National Park) for some ideas on new places to explore in the park. You have to love directions that are non-specific: "Go aways until you see the sign for Trout Haven. You'll go up a big hill, then you'll want to hang a left at the fork."
