A drawing of my OC Paulo, created in collaboration with my friend Hugo Damas. we're looking at him with a slight up shot his arm up as if he'd just been protecting his face from a gust of wind moments before. he looks into the distance at a sunrise off camera. a dead tree sits in the background as well. it's limbs though petrified reach out for a life left in the past. A drawing of my original character Afib. He’s a blue cat man wearing a white puffer vest and pink shoes. He’s flying over a monotone city on his teal telecaster guitar. The city itself is an inset panel and it is made to look like Afib is flying into it. Like he’s entering that world. There is also big text off to the left that sits outside the boundary of the panel and reads “RESET” in capital letters. Three panels in sequence of my original characters Sidca and Ben sitting on the ledge of a rooftop together. Ben moves in for a kiss by putting his hand atop Sidca’s and gently pulling his face in.

When I turned 30 I had not yet written my first published book or my first published novel and did not know (or know of) some of the most important people in my life. I didn't know how much my life could still change, and did, after the age of 30. There is so much your life still yet to live.

Not trend chasing but projects and subject matter I’ve done that folks have reacted well to in the past.
Like if I’ve made a character or story that was real popular, I feel pressure to revive that or do more of it to keep that momentum even if it’s not what I want to do.

Sometimes I get really far in a specific project and I’m like “actually I don’t want to do this?? Why am I doing this??” And then I realize I fooled myself into thinking i wanted to do it because I felt like it’s what other people wanted. 🫠

Been struggling with making what I want versus what my anxiety tells me I should be making.
I know people actually want to see what I’d like to make versus what I /feel/ like they might want from me, but it’s hard to convince myself that what I want isn’t lesser.
Working on it though.
