But on the other hand, it also motivates me, because I believe younger humanitarian workers need to understand the history behind such important initiatives as the Core Humanitarian Standards, ALNAP, or the Sphere Handbook.

On the one hand, this makes writing about these topics quite difficult for me, as I feel very small when I read about so many inspiring people who accomplished such great things.

Sometimes I have the impression that those of us who started working in humanitarian action and international cooperation fifteen years ago barely understand in depth everything that shaped the humanitarian system as we know it today.

Instead, I will develop additional individual pages on the major reforms of recent years, the logic behind them, and what they achieved and failed to achieve. This will lead, of course, to the changes the sector is experiencing (beyond the “Humanitarian Reset”) in 2025 and 2026. Step by step...

The new humanitarian funding landscape, the sector’s crisis, and the launch of the “Humanitarian Reset” also led me to slightly modify the structure of the website. It no longer makes sense to have just a small static page dedicated to “humanitarian reform”!
