This is MAGA ideological imperialism.

It's disguised as a "free speech" crusade. In reality, the Trump admin seeks to coerce Europe into deregulating digital environments to enable unimpeded extremist content that radicalises voters into supporting far-right populists.

NEW article by me!

We can now visualize pathogens down to atoms; design vaccines in weeks; manufacture them in microbial factories; engineer them more precise than ever before.

We're living through a golden age of vaccine development, but only if we continue to invest in them.

The first vaccine was a lucky accident. Now we can design new vaccines in weeks, atom by atom.

I believe this number is shocking, but also a huge underestimate. Diseases and conditions hardly show liniair growth in their impact. Take Malaria. One season of missed community interventions can make it radically expand. There are also major cuts in health workforce and training. #globalhealth

A este ritmo, en unos años, nuestros hijos van a flipar cuando les contemos que antes los países destinaban una pequeñita cantidad de sus fondos públicos a aliviar el sufrimiento en emergencias humanitarias... Les parecerá ciencia ficción.

Today I published the page that, so far, has been the most difficult for me to write on Salud Everywhere. In it, I have tried to analyze the 1994 Rwanda crisis and the impact it had on the humanitarian system.

Yesterday evening, I finished updating the Salud everywhere page on humanitarian financing. It took me some time, but it was absolutely necessary after the shift everything has taken in 2025. saludeverywhere.com/en/humanitar...

Humanitarian financing defines the scope and ethics of the response, but is insufficient, especially after the 2025 drastic cuts.

"The problem with NATO is that we'll be there for them 100% but I'm not sure that they'd be there for us, if we gave them the call".

We did get the call on 9/11. 26 NATO members sent troops to defend the US. Hundreds died doing so. It was the only time Article 5 has been activated.
