The other big plus (for all Maine residents):

Even if EPA rolls back their PFAS standards, Maine will keep the more stringent standards in place (i.e., the maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) of 4.0 parts per trillion for PFOA and PFOS, and 10 ppt for PFNA, PFHxS, and HFPO-DA (GenX))

What does this mean for those with well water?

Unfortunately, homeowners are responsible for #PFAS remediation costs (in most cases)

However, residents will now receive better information from the state about safe drinking water levels - so they can make informed decisions
