I've spent the afternoon looking into migrating a simple, static @cloudflare.social Pages + Functions site to Workers as recommended by recent Cloudflare product decisions.

I'm now about ready to dump Cloudflare if Workers is their future. Pages was dead simple, while Workers is a convoluted mess.

Can we all just agree that those @!#?@! AI search summaries/answers are beyond useless? Honestly, every time I run into one (be it Google, Reddit, etc) it's either flat out wrong or contradicts another one I just read.

If not using AI risks me being left behind from sheer stupidity, I'm okay that.

Overheard at @torontocomics.bsky.social:

“…I wish as an adult you could get a Scholastic catalog of books that you could order delivered to you each month.”

@bettytherob.bsky.social there was quite the rush of folks wanting to talk to you (and secure swag) after your session. I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ and that I really enjoyed your talk.

I’m just starting on my journey, but I’m sure I be drawing upon your generosity for years to come. 🙏

Attending the @torontocomics.bsky.social “Word Balloon” sessions this morning and upon checking the schedule I was pleasantly surprised to discover the sessions; “Networking for Introverts” and “Discovering the World of Jockstraps”.

Well, that’s this mornings agenda sorted!😉

Listening to “The Hotel Avocado” by @bobmort.bsky.social and finding that it is exactly the kind of lovely, funny, comfort story I need today.

And having Bob perform the narration is the cherry on top.

First day on ADHD meds (who knew, back in the 90s I was misdiagnosed as bipolar) on a train trip to Toronto for the Toronto Comics Arts Festival and I’m trying to adhere to my pharmacist’s advice to go easy on the coffee. 😬

And I should say, one day doesn't make a ton of impact if you just wait til Saturday. Most of us could be thinking harder about how we spend our money, every day. REPLACE your spending on oligarchs, don't just delay it.
Now with big red bunny.

“… it’s about connecting and becoming aware of how much of the digital is actually necessary, and feels good … in this world of designers that get more efficient every year, you have to think... what is the effect I want to have?”

”A Brief Study of Birds with Anxiety“… recently I've begun dusting off a picture book manuscript about an adopted penguin and his anxiety about attending 'Flight School'.

Not sure if this is the direction I'll go with some of the characters, but you gotta start somewhere.

I just started a new sketchbook, and in the interest of getting the "dreaded first page" out the way I give you a brief glimpse into my inner world filled with a myriad of (cute) monsters.
