Glad I don’t have to care about Carolina basketball anymore (until they inevitably rip off a few SEC wins in a row mid-season before crashing and burning and then I really won’t have to care)
Just drafted and played my cleanest deck ever. 7-1 Ru lessons with Ran and Shaw to finish games. Only loss was to (you guessed it) flood. But I did get lucky with a ton of T1 gran grans on the play, so it goes both ways sometimes.

Nuggets are deep but they’re not deep enough to survive Spencer jones and Hunter Tyson minutes.
There are still too many dudes on this team who wouldn’t sniff the roster of any other WC playoff team before

Note how I didn’t say “screw”. You can come back from mana screw. If you draw nothing but lands for 4 turns mid game and use your clues and draw spells to also draw nothing but lands you literally cannot win.
I really think arena floods you out if it thinks you’ll sink more money into drafts. No one can change my mind about this. I’ve had so many sick decks the past few days and ALL of my losses are from flood

With the Nuggets having a top 3 defensive rating for the year so far I figured they’d be near the top of the league in pace. But, no; they’re middle of the pack. Offenses are just that good in the NBA right now.

Deck was bad and I played it even worse than it was
Avatar draft 2 is a rakdos firebending/value deck with two of the Zukos that do a bunch of stuff then exile and return under your opponents’ control. Not enough lessons to reliable turn on the 1 mana fire nation guys, those really dried up in pack 2/3. Really close game 1 win. We’ll see what happens

With how good and how easy that air bending combo is I think we’re about to enter a combo meta in standard. Which is fine because I want to play the golgari infinite combo on Arena. But it’s probably not going to be fine playing in paper if Air Bending and Omniscience are 50+ percent of the meta.
