While everyone is talking about Nicole Kidman can I just say that if you haven't seen To Die For you should watch it tonight. It's a perfect movie and she plays a beautiful freak which she's, you know, extremely good at.

Scoop: OpenAI has signed its first ever Australia government contract, quietly inking a deal with Treasury amid the ChatGPT-maker's charm offensive on policymakers.

This modest contract is an ideal foothold into future, more lucrative deals, according to one firm's analysis.

Very flattered that this rando Republican thinks 1) Dead End is the “number one rated” cartoon on Netflix and 2) that we had the budget for claymation. I love a bit of attempted censorship by the stupidest people on earth ❤️

Greta Thunberg is held prisoner by Israel at a jail in the Negev. Read what Sweden’s embassy in Israel reports are the conditions of her detention ⬇️

Now just imagine: if Israel treats a world-famous Swedish activist this way, how badly are its prisons abusing Palestinians?

Far too many people in the US are already totally untethered from reality. Enter AI:
“Part of what keeps us sane is other people’s perspectives, which are often in tension with ours,” says Carissa Véliz, an associate professor of philosophy at the University of Oxford’s Institute for Ethics in AI. “When you say something questionable, others will challenge you, ask questions, defy you. It can be annoying, but it keeps us tied to reality, and it is the basis of a healthy democratic citizenry. Truth is intersubjective, meaning that we need other people — their testimony, their experiences, their rationality — to be well informed. And chatbots are not people. They don’t have experience. They are not witness. They are fancy wordplay.”

🚨 The Sumud flotilla is under attack in international waters.

The violent Israeli response, of drone and the violent naval attack, on an aid flotilla in international waters confirms the brutal illegality of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

I think it would actually be very BRAVE and FASCIST FIGHTING and HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT if Netflix gave us a season three order 🫡

It's probably going to be a very odd day
Screenshot of Elon Musk tweeting "this is not ok" as a reply to Libs of TikTok posting "omg. Dead end paranormal park, a show on netflix, is pushing pro-teangeder on CHILDREN. This show is advertised for 7-year-olds. It's being promoted on netflix kids now. Parents - beware" with an attached photo of Barney from the show.

I'll accept a lot of nonsense in my TV shows but in the new series of Slow Horses someone describes Jack Lowden's character as "asexual" as a way of implying no one would find him attractive and...come on. He's a good actor but we still have eyes. This has been "Horny Reviews", thanks for your time.

Have they tested you for walking pneumonia? We got it last year and it doesn’t show up on the standard tests and it also requires different antibiotics to the other stuff 🙃

Retrospectively removing indefinite leave to remain would be immoral and economically damaging. It would tear families apart.
Attacking it as ‘potentially illegal’ is completely beside the point.
Argue with the (awful) idea. Don’t try ’well, actually you can’t do that’.

Not only is the hunger for new data centres already impacting Australia's energy demands, it's even driving down our ambitions for reducing our emissions, Ketan Joshi reports in Crikey.
