I spent a tenner on this, and I know that’s not realistic for a lot of people, especially if you’ve got kids — but if you can afford to get rid of those plastic scouring pad sponges from the supermarket, you can’t beat a good natural sponge.

Brexit was such a lie.

It’s actually made the U.K. poorer, more isolated, insular and less secure

And remember who led the drive that has made us more insecure - Farage alongside Johnson & Co.

The U.K. needs to accept its error and seek a closer union with Europe.

Clearly, General Xu was an incredibly brave man. I doubt I could sum up the same level of courage. He must have felt quite vulnerable sat in the dock on his own in there.

Those opposed to the ECHR will never be satisfied by tinkering, just as Brexiters were never satisfied by the many opt-outs and rebates the UK received, writes @davidallengreen.bsky.social.

I love Ed. I think he’s quite a funny man. Once I heard him say to someone, “I’m going to abolish the HoL — just so I can get rid of you,” which made me laugh for hours.
Even his enemies are likely to admit Ed Miliband is Labour’s best cabinet minister, writes Michael Jacobs. Not even Morgan McSweeney could stare him down...

Some want to keep immigration out of the Christmas story to avoid uncomfortable questions about modern migrants. Yet for generations, Christians have understood the Holy Family’s flight to Egypt to be a refugee story.

When I was a football steward, I saw Eric Cantona stark naked while on shower guarding duty at a charity 5-a-side match. I have to say, he was extremely nice. Not in a gay way, not that there’s anything wrong with that! Just very friendly, & we had a very good chat about politics. What a clever man.
