The cool thing about knowing how to weave is you can think to yourself that you’d like a pink and orange bandana and then just….make it. Pattern is Jitterbug by Bertha Gray Hayes; forever obsessed with how her 1930s overshot patterns look so current almost 100 years later.

Finally finished this krokbragd rug/tapestry I’m giving to some friends as a wedding gift, 8 hours before leaving for the wedding. I have so many weaving projects I’ve taken off the loom and never actually finished or mounted before moving on, nice to see something properly finished.

Every time I warp my loom for a new project I go through about 50 rounds of I hate this it’s never going to be over I just want to get to the fun part (weaving) to accepting that warping *is* weaving and trying to enjoy the process. Anyway, after many hours, it’s ready to go.

Between dealing with a seemingly never-ending autoimmune illness flare and witnessing our descent into fascism it has been hard to sit at my loom and weave but I have been ever so slowly picking my way forward on a new krokbragd rug.

My four year old picked all these flowers and learned to make a lei from our friend here in Hawaii, then asked me to model it so she could take a photo of me. Lucky to have spent such a beautiful week here.

Saw probably 100 dolphins in the Delaware bay on a 4 hour sail, so many more than I have ever seen before. Got stuck in a loop saying “I can’t believe there are so many!” Still no whale sighting tho ☹️

If you were wondering what it’s like to be married to me, today I accidentally washed Julian’s alpaca hoodie with a random load of laundry and it came out small enough for my 4 year old. I didn’t even put it in the dryer!!

I can’t stop thinking about this baffling email from Hyundai that I received in response to asking for a buyback for my Ioniq 5 that has been off the road for 33 days and counting due to failed ICCU (before I file a lemon law claim). I guess they need to review further? 🍋
