I hate when there's one interview participant who just says everything beautifully. But you really cannot just quote her the whole time

Transcribing so many interviews about the hospital makes me miss it. That team science and patient engagement taught me SO much.

Was talking to a school classmate/colleague about babies as she has an 8 month old and I have a 3 year old. During our conversation she realized that I started the program when my babe was only 3 months old and looked 😳. Looking back, I truly cannot comprehend how I did anything at that time.

This interview participant had me cracking up the whole interview AND cracking up again as I transcribe 🤣

If we want men to be less lonely, we should start by socializing them in boyhood to be part of a shared project of care. Give them dolls, toy kitchens, and tea sets. Ask them to help care for younger children. Expect them to clean up after themselves. Let them feel the work and value of care. 1/
When I see people complain about male loneliness, it is so painfully OBVIOUS to me that most of these lonely men are men who feel entitled to a woman who does that labor for them, who acts as their agent enmeshing them into community through unpaid pro-social labor on their behalf.

Anti-LGBTQ orgs have explicitly stated they USE sports as a "gateway drug" to undermine trans people's rights. They've also said this is how they eventually roll back all progress on LGBTQ rights. Newsom falls for it hook, line, and sinker.

The amount of long Island that comes out when I'm interviewing someone else from long Island is wild. I don't think I would realize how extreme it gets if not for having to transcribe the interviews.

I'm currenlty in the last couple days of my medical sociology course and I am just hoping the students have learned enough in the class to apply these ideas to the risks being faced with this bill.

I assigned memos for the summer course I'm teaching - it's lecture notes and reflections - and I'm blown away by the student engagement with the material. It's so fun to read. Especially in an asynchronous online class where interaction is limited.

Every cut that the government makes to social services is effectively a tax on women. Because they're the ones who will be expected to fill in the gaps.
BREAKING: 1 in 4 nursing homes say they will be forced to close if Republicans pass Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.

No grandma should be kicked out of her nursing home so that Mark Zuckerberg can buy another Hawaiian island.

I read this not as sociopathy but as the neoliberal devaluation of care. Care work--like cleaning up--is too labor-intensive to be highly profitable. So, if we're each supposed to maximize our profit-making potential, then those with more privilege have incentive push care work onto those with less.
Here’s a video of Stephen Miller in high school screaming that he’s “sick and tired of being told to pick up my trash, when we have plenty of janitors who are paid to do it for us.”

This is the sociopath shaping our immigration policy and so much more
