I think to some degree, people who see the mascot underestimate its importance. Your browsing experience getting interrupted is a high-tension situation, especially because it shows up for only a moment and you don't know what's happening. The mascot is there to defuse the tension.

I'd love to spend time trying to build an equivalent of Kube, but I imagine even approaching something to the level of Kube would be something you'd publish a paper on and advance the field of language design with, making something so completely different.

In all seriousness, I find the claim that the test has been passed dubious. Every single instance of people claiming this they give the LLM a lot of leeway, and don't actually perform a proper adversarial test. By its very nature, passing the test as originally prompted requires general-AI.
