You can probably tell I'm a bit of a bad ass.

Every episode of Netflix's Adolescence was filmed in one take. And that's not even the most impressive part of this relentless, astonishingly acted examination of a British teen accused of a terrible crime. My review:
'Adolescence' Is Harrowing, Heartbreaking, and a Must-Watch
Four single-shot episodes tell the story (co-written by star Stephen Graham) of a boy accused of murdering a classmate and its effect on his family.

Trying AGAIN.

Lazarus will return in 2025 with the final series, “Lazarus: Fallen.” Here’s a bit from issue 1. Script by me, art by Michael Lark, letters by @airy.bsky.social, coloring by Santi Arcas. The book is edited by @alejandrobot.com and published by @imagecomics.bsky.social.

Instantly one of my favorite westerns. I was aware of McCrea but had never watched a Randolph Scott film, I believe. If the rumors of a love affair w/ Scott & Cary Grant are true then I am all for it. There's also a very Han Solo vibe to his character in Ride The High Country. ****

I'm really glad I never saw Jack Lemmon get Marvel superhero abs.

This week's #MastersOfTheAir is one of the most riveting hours of television you will watch this year. AppleTV+ dropped Friday's episode early if you're so inclined. You won't need coffee.

#TheLongestYard Burt 's so drunk & enraged in the beginning. The Skynyrd song playing as he's melting down and terrorizing a whole city, just perfect. I like that he's in prison for a reason. He wasn't conveniently framed for anything to make us like him. He's a public menace.

Oh, for fuck's sake. Cutting off Nazis is not censorship! Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to be published wherever you want to be published. Hateful words are still allowed to have consequences. My newsletter's free, so Substack gets no money from it. But probably time to find a new home.
NEW: Substack founders finally respond to Substackers Against Nazis. They say Nazis publishing and earning money on their platform is fine with them.

And if you ever get discouraged by rejection, take a look at this: Paul Levitz's response to the first story ideas I ever pitched him. I didn't let it stop me and you shouldn't, either.
