Yet the SFStandard still seems oddly detached from the real story: Who cleared this "mistake"? What were they thinking? What made them change their mind? Why is it still up?

Some early adopters use the term "skeet." I find the term derivative and lacking imagination (sky + tweet) and frankly somewhat triggering. To me, it evokes an old relationship that ended badly. I prefer "post" or "posted" and will continue to do so until someone comes up with something better.
