Also my earlier stuff is very palpably the work of someone who has not figured out a lot about herself yet. Like there are early versions of Dido on the Edge where the protagonist isn't trans. Except she clearly is and the writer has not worked that out yet.

"This is just a story and everyone's welcome to imagine their own version of where things end up, you don't need to accept ours" is a more sophisticated thought than I'd anticipated from this franchise. I like it a lot.
