I’ve spent the first day of 2026 working on some ideas to breathe new life into a long-term passion project. Initial testing looks… promising.

I thrifted this gorgeous material and I have no idea what it is! It’s printed on a rust orange background. The fabric is brushed to a sheen on the front, the piece is roughly square and runs selvedge to selvedge with a simple zigzag stitch on the cut ends. My best guess is tablecloth or bedspread?

One of the first ideas I had for this build is one of the last that I get to actually make. I’m disguising the box latch with a hose reel! The best part? It still opens (that’s where the batteries for the lights are)!

If you only looked at the progress I made today you’d have no idea that I dumped half a bottle of super glue directly onto my desktop botanical garden earlier.
After a few hour delay fixing that mess, she is entirely enclosed! Onto the final exterior details now… #miniature #artsky
