And yes, I got a little frustrated when you decided to question my real world experience and the value of my opinion by saying that I must've learned it on chatgpt anyways. I lost my cool a little bit there, which I shouldn't have.

There's a difference between respecting opinions and respecting people. I've said that putting the Coast Guard back in the Department of Transportation would be stupid. I did not say the person saying that was a dumbass.

Well, that means you're manually checking back to see if I said anything, which sounds even more involved if I'm not that important. Regardless, whether or not you get notifications was not the point of that comment.

Interesting, I thought you wanted them back in the Department of Transportation because that "worked fine"
Besides, their primary role is policing, unlike every other armed force in the U.S.
That alone is probably enough of a reason to throw them in a branch with other federal police forces...

Just because "it ain't broke" doesn't mean it can't work better. In any case the coast guard "ain't broke" now, but "fixing it" by removing them from the DHS seems to be what you're advocating for.

Regardless of how the executive branch is organized, the Trump administration is at the head of it, and they are who are responsible for the policy changes that we are so against.

It's been the courts and congress it's always been the courts and congress. Whether or not the FBI or the CIA is part of the DHS, they are part of the Executive Branch. I don't think gathering them into a department is somehow making it easier for them to get away with shit.

Not only do I think it doesn't matter, but I think worrying about it is actively unproductive. The issue has always been the people in charge and the policies they're pushing as well as insufficient checks and balances.
