that is an oddly-shaped device.

sorry, i know i'm usually a ray of pure light and positivity, but i have blister on my foot from dancing too much in the wrong shoes and it's taking so long to heal my mind said "probably cancer" and then it said "oh that's the stress of fascism" and then i realized i should've eaten an hour ago.

two ethers, i'm in.

interesting! i'm looking for "just an editor" and this explicitly says it's not that. but the idea of a personal indexer has been taking up space in my head for a while, definitely going to check this out, ty!

Arc I couldn't figure out. But Zen's spaces are great - somehow far more usable than Arc's implementation.

I'm multi-window b/c of poor groups implementations. Tabs-in-window is the primary constraint to a groups implementation that can truly work. Single or multi-window shouldn't matter.

I've used Obsidian for years because I like the editor experience + filesystem-centricity.

But I guess I'm now rounding a bend.

That's not enough to need closed source software which doesn't do couple of other basic things I need.

NOPE Logseq is still bizarre and incomprehensible for me. Good reminder of how much I dislike block editors.
January 8, 2026 at 10:54 AM
Hm, recent posts from @thdxr.com with images also have this problem, wonder what they post with?
January 8, 2026 at 10:40 AM
I open Logseq a couple times a year. It's 2026, so time to open it again.

Maybe I'll do the overlapping folder/vault thing so I can have both.

IIRC the vim mode extension was just not working last I tried, which was instant dealbreaker.

Obsidian's got a lot going for it and I've liked many aspects of the design, but also

I can't wait to *not* have to use this closed-source, bizarre UI, can't-be-a-.md-handler, "vault" of madness.

There's probably an extension for syncing only hotkeys across vaults somewhere by someone but I couldn't find it.
