It is, at least in part, because they have to ignore the actual largest barrier to higher education which is the financial burden.

And you know what the talking heads seem to rarely use 'violent' to describe? The systemic destruction of families through ICE detentions and deportations. Breaking a window is framed *primarily* as violence, but taking a grandparent away from their kids or sending someone to a work camp isn't.

Having to wade through thousands of these types of companies is such a demoralizing part of trying to find a job in tech.

This mentality is pretty pervasive throughout a lot of different sectors. I believe that the “fix it later” mindset is a big reason why everything is so messed up right now.
