Excellent article, Brian.
Absolutely agree regarding Demidov.

All the skill in the world , won't help him score in the defensive end .

I thought newcomers Dobson and Bolduc looked solid .

Strong game from Slaf and Caulfield.

Matheson looked good as did Hutson.

But 2C must be addressed.

A lot to like from the Habs in the opening frame.

For many years, it’s been obvious in Toronto that Montreal was second best; that the play was mostly in front of their own goalie.

For 20 minutes, that was not the case. Good even period.

Sometimes as an organization, you ask for your rebuild to be over before it’s ready to be over.

It will be about not running it back for a fifth year, more than any individual choice. It’s just not likely to run it back with a 95-96 win team underachieving yet again. Just doesn’t happen.

Something has to change. They simply can not and will not run it back for year 5.

He’s got great hands. He has fantastic vision.

Kapanen’s great work with Demidov and Newhook wins him the final forward spot. Veleno takes the 13th forward spot from the press box.

Beck, F. Xhekaj and Engstrom to Laval. Blais and Kakkonen will almost certainly clear waivers.

It all starts Wednesday in Toronto.

Même si Ivan Demidov n'a pas terminé la partie hier après le vilain (ou idiot, ou inutile) coup de bâton de Nick Cousins, tout indique qu'il y a eu plus de peur que de mal.

Le jeune attaquant ne devrait rater aucune partie et possiblement même participer à l'entraînement demain à Québec.
