I’m a disability attorney and guy who does writing stuff in Portland, OR. I love horror movies because they tell the truth. Opinions not endorsed by employer.
How about we remove all the people gatekeeping billions of dollars from the rest of us. That’d make me exponentially more creative, for sure.

Thanks. First three that came to mind.

Same. PREDATOR BADLANDS is weirdly cathartic after that show. Yeah, there’s lots of Weyland Yutani synths, but oh my god is it the most Predator-assed Predator movie ever.

Samez. Little drummer boy made me cry on at least three occasions.

Ugh, same. Xenos finally show up on earth…but they’re stuck in a high rise building…followed by an isolated tropical island. Also the show is 93% about robots.

If nothing else, Pennywise finally started to feel like the Lovecraftian nightmare god from beyond the stars that I’ve always been told-not-shown that he is.

I haven’t watched the new one yet but I’m surprised by how much I like that show. Probably helps that I’m about the furthest you can come from being a Stephen King purist.

This was definitely a “fuck it I’ll watch I it with my kid—no wait this kind of slams” type of experience for me.

Well played, sir. I saw a person last week saying “Last Christmas” is one of the worst songs of all time, and I’m like…no. There’s a knight of the goddamn realm who holds that dubious honor.

Has Billy Joel said he didn’t actually know about Davy from the Navy?

As terrible as so much is right now, that story makes me radiate gratitude like a goddamn bodhisattva.

A wave of profound sadness just washed over me. I was not prepared to see AWAKENINGS at eleven years old. Might not even be ready for it today.
December 14, 2025 at 2:10 AM
Ooh, that’s a great idea.

Too bad it cuts off before the Matt Reeves film. I’m mixed on that project overall, but his Batmobile was fucking predatory.

Love that girl so much.

They played that recently at a theater in Portland and it sold out before I got a ticket. Still bummed about that.
December 13, 2025 at 5:23 PM
Yeah, I get that stuff is probably on some kinda headshop-type wavelength with Ditko’s trippy bullshit. However, I’ll give props to INCEPTION for actually explaining the why of it.

It doesn’t help that the Rubik’s fractal-shifting architecture stuff reminds me of Chris Nolan who I straight do not like.
December 13, 2025 at 2:23 AM
Cumberbatch would have the worst fake-US accent in the MCU were it not for stupid Everett Ross.
December 13, 2025 at 2:20 AM
Yeah, that movie was slept on.
