7 years ago I wrote a poem called Proxima Centauri B about how commercial space exploration is nothing but a distraction from rampant ecological destruction, but never published it till today.

When we're all in bunkers on Proxima Centauri b, who’s to say we won't destroy those oceans...?

Today, Senator Kaine and I will force the Senate to vote on the administration’s decision to blow up ships in the Caribbean.

If a president can unilaterally put people or groups on a list and kill them, there is no meaningful limit to his use of force.

Probably will need to make sure every surface is deep cleaned with the most powerful antibacterial and antiviral cleaners available on earth. The people who spend time in there now are objectively and literally disgusting.

There’s no waiting. There’s no let’s see in 4 years. Every day this continues people are dying horrific, unnecessary deaths and being tortured in concentration camps on American soil. The people fighting back against this with every breath need to be supported and held up and joined by everyone.

they don’t want you to know how they treat prisoners because it will grieve you to know it, which is natural and human, and because of your normal human reaction you will want the system changed. It’s important to them that your natural aversion to how the system works not be engaged.

And what a lesson for us. We’ve already reached thousands if not hundreds of thousands counting the impact of cuts to usaid, set to reach 14 million by 2030.

175,484 known deaths was from June, and tracking research cut, so it could easily be a million by now.

I don’t think you see things so differently.

In fact the only weird thinking pattern I see in the US is so many people thinking they are thinking these rational thoughts alone.

Most people do have common sense—you all just have to realise that you definitely are not on your own and act on it.

Good reporting on the South Shore raid from South Side weekly here.

Confirms one thing I was told but didn't put in my own piece because I didn't have a second source and it seemed too insane: border agents segregated arrested residents by race

Families were woken by flashbangs and helicopters as hundreds of federal agents raided their homes. Days later, neighbors are still searching for the missing.

I dunno if I'm the last one to hear about this? But the reason the president is sending the *National Guard* to Portland is because the city mailed the government's landlord...a zoning violation notice?

They are sending in the troops to avoid "a monthly code enforcement fee"??

eventually politicians need to start advocating for criminal and civil penalties for people involved in fabricating stories to get citizens incarcerated.

or, put another way: a society that would like to keep functioning has to discourage baldfaced lying, especially by authorities

Well, yeah, we're suing ICE.

This wasn't really a hard decision. As little faith as we have in institutions, we recognize the value of drawing visible lines in the sand. We drew ours personally a while ago, but better late than never.

May every protester be freed and may this occupation end.
