Never before in American history has one state's military force been deployed in another state over its objection.

I say never because the Civil War involved states whose governments legally ceased to exist, their offices vacated by constructive resignation, with no legitimate governors to object.

I heard a guy on TV saying these shutdowns occur under both Democrats and Republicans, but there hasn't been a shutdown when Dems were in control of all three branches since the 1970s under Carter.

My Mom ended up a caregiver with no boundaries and it sapped her energy and health all too early. I wish I had been old enough and knowledgeable enough to help her navigate the obstacles. I can see it now but it's 20 years too late.
