Now I don't know what's going on. Apparently fixing the date deleted the audio??
cacomixpod.bsky.social
Thanks for mentioning that. I don't want you to have to wait five hundred years for the episode!
cacomixpod.bsky.social
Lmao I'm so stupid. I typed the drop time in wrong, so Patreon was fully prepared to release the episode on 10/10/2525.
cacomixpod.bsky.social
It didn't drop on patreon?? I must have done something wrong, because I uploaded it there! Two seconds!

Dave Gibbons - pinnin’ up on the Last Son of Krypton, at the doorstep of his Fortress of Solitude.
Superman standing on the ice, the big yellow key to the Fortress just behind him.

About halfway through this bad boy and Nat is truly cooking: Martian geology, fascism, cultural hegemony, Orientalism, Russophobia, the political utility of the superhero, and a comprehensive breakdown of everything that didn’t work for me in Superman. A MUST

I said I wasn't going to do one. Then I did one that's longer than the movie.

Incredible that Curt Swan just quietly plodded away at his Superman day job for forty years while low key producing some of the most stunning art in the biz.

Interesting to me is even a decade ago something like MAN OF STEEL had at least some raised eyebrows asking if the 9/11 riffing was exploitative. That fans insist here Israel's Genocide is being addressed speaks to an engineered poverty in political imagination.

I got lots of hate for saying this. The burden of being right all the time, I guess 😔

Quote post with something funny about you:

One time, I stole Bono's entire birthday cake from his birthday party. I have no regrets.

Witches don't trap local lords in endless magical mazes for their prideful impudence anymore, and I feel like we should bring that back.

I truly have no idea why so many liberals with huge accounts have started following me here. It's been going on for months now.

But welcome! Socialism is the future!

I mean it when I say the Daleks are some of the best villains to ever do it.
Daleks from their first appearance in the 60s serial "The Daleks" discussing the Doctor's death.

"The old man is dying."
"Then he must die."

2/ Like all media, anything even remotely close to demonstrating socialist politics can and should be used as a tool for opening a conversation about REAL LIFE. It's a useful foot in the door and nothing more.
cacomixpod.bsky.social
1/ I personally don't buy the Capitalist Realism argument that left wing messaging in corporate media diffuses revolutionary potential. Anyone satisfied with seeing someone else take care of the world's problems likely wasn't going to join the struggle of their own accord anyway.
