Hasn't it been accepted that TWW was already like 80% planned out before Metzen came back, and he was the one that wanted to stretch this thing out across three expansions? That really easily explains why the story is so thin on the ground this expansion.

They did such an excellent job on the flying animations for Dracthyr. Flying in circles around capital cities is relaxing. I should roll more lizards.

The pause menu is updated but it's supposed to have hover details ingame. I've found it to be incredibly inconsistent whether it'll actually function or not. I went ahead and just re-downloaded the mod, which still works.

It probably was the case then. Back in what, Year 25? All they had back then was their own ruined magic and maybe the Forsaken to help. They've had two decades to research it, gained new allies in the Druidic Tauren and Arcane Nightborne to help. Plenty of ways to plausibly write out the recovery.
